Our fireplace is brick and was really nice to look at. It is a huge fireplace with a big opening. However, it did not throw off that much heat. Thus, we started looking for Vent Free Fireplace Inserts and Parts that would be more of a heater, so to speak. We looked to the ends of the earth and ending up finding one for a great deal. My husband installed it himself and boy did it make a difference. Our family room heats up great now with the insert. We found we do not even have to have the heat on past 6pm!
