Elliptical machines that have oversized pedals permit a variety of positions for the feet and ensure important stability throughout your exercise routine. Also, if the unit has a stainless steel glide track with top grade bushings, the operation will result in an even smoother performance. This speaks directly to the importance of buying for quality of product rather than only for price considerations.
Fitness ellipticals emulate the natural motion of your feet as you perform a movement that typically combines a stair climbing stride with that of a treadmill. The result is a smoother and lower impact exercise when compared with the percussion of running. Some exercise ellipticals have magnetic resistance controls that add difficulty to the routine while simultaneously preserving your knees and joints. This, of course, makes them popular with senior exercisers, as well as physical trainers who oversee patient rehabilitation.

I thought an elliptical trainer would be exactly what I needed to get back into shape, so I forked over a thousand dollars only to have buyers remorse. Now the thing just sits in my office while I try to get back into the spirit of using it. Oh well, maybe I’m just meant to be a walker.

In my experience, an elliptical trainer workout combines the complete natural stride of a treadmill machine with the simple ease-of-use of a stair climber. Treadmills can be trickier than ellipticals, if you don’t pace yourself just right.

An elliptical trainer machine gives you a cardiovascular workoug without messing up your joints or your back. This is a god-send for those who want a full workout, but dread trying to get out bed the next morning. These things are safe and easy to use.

If you are a beginner, get yourself an elliptical home trainer… as long as you will devote time and effort to using it. Good machines are not cheap so be careful you don’t get buyers remorse after you decide you’re too lazy to put any more effort into the workout sessions.

I’m a pretty big guy and must admit that getting used to an elliptical machine at my gym has been nothing short of embarrassing. First time, I got up on the unit and didn’t realize that the damn thing could actually tip over. Fortunately, nobody got hurt but my face was sure red.
