Hemorrhoids are painful and make bowel movements a punishment. And don’t forget what happens when they get ruptured, you bleed and might get an infection. So what causes hemorrhoids? Hemorrhoids, or sometimes called piles occur when a mass of vein or of veins in the anal canal have become inflamed due to pressure applied on the lower rectum. Some of the factors suspected of causing them are: old age, a low in fiber diet, sitting too long in the toilet, anal sex, constipation, diarrhea, obesity, genetics and pregnancy.
When you think you have hemorrhoids you should get medical help just to be sure and on the safe side. If the hemorrhoids are not serious, ointments, cream or suppositories will do. Unfortunately, with hemorrhoid it will always be a suppository and not a pill which you can just pop into your mouth. If it’s serious, it’s recommended to undergo sclerotheraphy, which is an endovenous treatment which is also used to get rid of spider veins.
So while there are a lot of factors to what causes hemorrhoids, you shouldn’t fear because there are also a lot of ways to treat it.
