Where Can I Purchase Cat 6 Network Cable?

01 Sep

Rob was upgrading all his wiring in his network. He needed ethernet wire that would support 10 gigabit. He purchased all new connectors and looked for bulk wire that was flexible. He has done all the wiring before by himself and did not see any problem as long as he could purchase Cat 6 Network Cable. Rob searched a local hardware store, but they did not have the patch that he needed. He decided to check online to see if he could find a company that sells shielded wiring for a network. Rob found what he was looking for online.

volumes of data

21 Aug

Posted by Kari,

With increasing requirements for transfers of large volumes of data, a number of businesses are shifting to the category 6 cable which incidentally is the sixth generation cabling standard for Gigabit Ethernet. It retains compatibility with the earlier standards like Cat 3 and Cat 5/5e. This standard is defined by EIA/TIA – Electronic Industries Association and Telecommunications Industry Association. It provides more stringent specifications for system noise and crosstalk. Cat 6 cable can handle frequencies of up to 250 MHz. It is suited for 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX and even 1000BASE-T (i.e Gigabit Ethernet). The Cat 6 cables mainly have two variants. They either have a stranded or a solid core. Stranded cables are flexible and suitable for short distances For example for temporary or movable cabling. Solid cables can work with longer distances. For example for fixed wiring configurations like office buildings.

Streamline Cabling Problems

17 Aug

Where we live now we are limited by the service providers for Internet and Cable. Unfortunately we had to sign up with a company that sends you the equipment and then you have to set everything up. This is not exactly easy for someone like myself who knows nothing about how to set up electronics and especially when it comes to Cabling. Luckily there has been enough information from the customer service department to get me up and running with Internet connection but hopefully I can find handy websites to reference how to make this a better looking office area with all the cords.

high speed Internet

12 Aug

Posted by Maryetta,

As technology advances and we rely more on the Internet for daily tasks and communication, a high speed Internet connection becomes a necessity. However, getting an high speed internet provider in a rural area is not as easy as getting the same connection speed in a busy city. When living in the country or a relatively under developed area, Internet users need to go the extra mile to find an available high speed connection. Sometimes, local cable and land based phone providers offer high speed Internet. Rural residents should contact the company that provides these services in their area and ask if high speed Internet if offered as part of a bundle. If broadband is not currently offered, ask the representative if there are any future plans to include the service.

Wondering What to Get my Son for College

07 Aug

Posted by Esmeralda,

I was trying to figure out what to give my son to help him with taking notes for college. I finally decided to look into getting him one of those digital pads that allow you to take notes on the screen. I thought maybe this would be convenient for him. It might allow him to carry less with him every day since he would not need to carry his laptop. I hope he likes it because I think it would be a great item to have for note taking. I had talked to his girlfriend and she said that she had seen him looking at them in a magazine.

random access memory

24 Jul

Posted by Silvia,

The DDR RAM memory or double-data-rate synchronous dynamic random access memory, offers greater bandwidth than ordinary SDRAM. It is a type of memory-integrated circuit used in computers that transfers data on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal. Highly efficient, it nearly doubles the transfer rate, while maintaining the frequency of the front side bus. For example, if data is transferred 8 bytes at a time the DDR RAM transfer rate could be calculated as (memory bus clock rate) × 2 (for dual rate) × 8 (number of bytes transferred). This means with a bus frequency of 100 MHz, DDR-SDRAM gives a maximum transfer rate of 1600 MB/s. DDR Memory has 184 pins and one notch. The DDR operates at a voltage of 2.5V. The DDR SDRAM package sizes and the standards of speed have been set by JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council). There are two sets of specifications: one for memory chips and the other for memory modules.

Cellphone Fevers: Plan or Prepaid

18 Jul

Posted by Jennefer,

Mobile users have two options on how they could use their cellular phones. It is either they want to get a prepaid or plans. Prepaid phones allow you to enjoy using different cellular phone service providers with the use of their corresponding sim. Having a mobile plan account makes you tied down to a contract, usually for 2 years. The free cellphone that comes with your plan is usually locked for exclusive use of the service provider of your plan. Once your contract is over, you may want to consider Unlocked Mobiles to allow you to use the sim of other cellphone service providers. In terms of load availability, mobile plans give you a credit limit that you can enjoy using continuously without the hassles of reloading frequently for a prepaid load.
