For a series of uniformly spaced stitching holes along a straight line, use the stitching punch for holes that are to be sewn with thread and the thonging punch for lacing. You can also use an awl or drive punches. First mark the leather with the stitch marker or a pencil and straightedge, then punch the holes individually. Mark curved lines with dividers or a stitch marker. Make holes with a punch or an awl. Stitches are usually set 1/8 from edges. For straight lines push marker along a steel straightedge. For curves, draw guidelines with compass. Check out Bench Seat Covers.
