A used rowing machine is a great idea as new rowing machines tend to be on the expensive side. A concept II rowing machine, one of the better known rowers will most definately set you back more than $1000. The good thing about rowing machines is they tend to last well when looked after and you can get a good second hand rowing machine which can give you years of satisfation. The only part you may have to replace is the battery inside the console which usually only lasts a year. The console is imperative as it gives you your rowing times and distance as well as rowing programs.
