Getting a New Tractor

04 Sep

Posted by Micheal,

My husband really wants a new tractor for himself. He found a COMPACT FARM TRACTOR that he thinks he just can’t live without. I don’t mind though since he will use it to work, but I honestly think it is a bit of a toy to him. He loves the big equipment and can act just like a little kid sometimes when he gets around it. I laugh at it, but it is part of why I love him so much. It puts a smile on my face to see him that way about something he is going to use for work.

I too grew up on a farm in Missouri and I can remember what an event it was when my father could buy a new tractor. He always had to finance them because they cost so much, he would be so excited when the new one would arrive.

There should be some perks to being here a farmer and for most farmers a tractor is at the top of the list. I grew up on a farm and I remember that my dad always got very excited about a new tractor the few times that he was fortunate enough to get a new one.

At least your husband spends money on things such as a tractor which he uses to make a living. My husband likes to spend money on golf and it can get to be expensive what with club membership, greens fees, and of course golf clubs.

My husband has the same brand of tractor and he really is glad that he got a Farm Pro, it is a lot of tractor for the money and really reasonbaly priced for the amount of tractor that you get.

That is the good thing about farmers, they all seem to be totally thrilled with getting a new tractor. For them it is truly like getting a new toy. It is great that farmers get such a thrill from a piece of equiptment that they use for making a living.

We live on a few acres and my husband absolutely loves his tractor. He looks for something to do with it. It is not a large tractor but he bought a backhoe for it and I can’t count how many days off it has taken him to dig a trench for water fro the house to the barn. A shovel would have been faster.

I think my husband would prefer to buy a new tractor rather than a new car. Of course he is a farmer so he does make his living with the tractor. But he is always ecstatic when he can find a way to justify buying a new tractor.

I can see why men love to get a new tractor. They keep putting new features on the tractors which make farming easier and more efficient. I really love it when my husband gets a new one.

Essentially, men seem to be overgrown boys so no wonder they get excited about buying a new tractor. Of course the purchase can be justified because they are going to use it to make a living.

To the wife who made the golf comment, I know what you mean about spending money on a hobby. I get really mad when I start adding up all the money he spends as well as the time away from home.

Tractors are the most important piece of machinery for any farmer. For reasons I will never understand, my husband says that he has a get a new tractor every three years. I guess he is right.

I agree that when it comes to farming tractors are definitely the most important piece of eqiupment. We have a large farm so my husband has four different tractors. He loves all of them equally.

Around where we live, it is important to keep up with the other farmers as far as what kind of tractor and how new it is. It it kind of like keeping up with the Joneses is in town.

Yes, it is like that where we live. In town it is all about your house and car. Out here it is all about have the “right” brand of tractor and of course having all the implements to go with it.

My husband gets so excited about getting a new tractor that it rubs off on me. I do know how to drive the tractor and on some occasions when my husband was sick, I actually got out and plowed the fields.

You are right, there is no doubt that men are really overgrown little boys. My husband is like a seven year old at Christmas time when it comes to finally being able to getting a new tractor.

Making a living as a farmer in this time is not easy what with all the corporate farms we have to try to compete against. So I am happy to see my husband get a new tractor to make life easier.

The corporate farms are making it next to impossible to make a living on a farm these days. Thank goodness that we are the fourth generation on the farm so it is totally paid off.

You are right when you speak of how difficult it is to try and survive with a family farm. We have seen so many of our neighbors go broke and losing farms that had been handed down.

It seems it is only a matter of time until all farming in this country will be done by corporations. Maybe what could possibly save family farming would be to switch to organic type farming.

I do get vicarious pleasure from seeing how excited my husband gets when it is at long last time to buy a new tractor. There should be some reward for doing the hard work of farming.

I too get really excited about a new tractor, not quite as excited as my husband of course, but I can hardly wait until the tractor arrives from the factory. I love to see my husband’s face light up.

I totally agree when you say that all men are little boys peering out of adult bodies. My husband can barely contain himself while he waits for the tractor he ordered arrives from the dealer.

We live on a small acerage so my husband does not make a living farming, however he has a tractor with more attachments than any farmer could think of or ever possibly want or need.

We too live on a small acerage and my husband does just what you are describing. We have so many attachments that we have had to build a new shed to have a place to keep them.

Men do seem to be exactly like little kids. This knowledge should make it easier to live with them. I think  that women’s problem is that they expect their husbands to act just like adults.

I agree, women are complicated they have so many requirements to make them happy. Men on the other hand,  only require enough food so they can have as much sex as they have dreamed of.

I can always tell when my husband is thinking of a new tractor. It starts with him telling me about the strange noises it is starting to make and then he tells me how much the repairs will be.

Yes, that is how my husband starts when campaigning for a new tractor. Then tells me how that repair is just the beginning of trips to the mechanic and he tells me how old the tractor is.

My husband is a lot more fun to be around when he is happy, so I have learned to take the path of least resistance. When he wants a new tractor, I immediately agree with him.
