Although this is probably not the best market to be soing this, we have decided to go ahead and build on our land. We have had it for quite sometime and we will do a lot of the finish work ourselves.  We are also concerned about the environment and want to build a “green” home. One of the best kept secrets about an environmentally friendly home is that they can be very energy efficient. Also if they are build properly, you can keep a lot of allergens out of the air  with filters. That makes a lot of difference to someone who has allergies like me.

I have an outdoor kitchen island that I really love and then I looked at the fireplace in the living room and thought it really needed a decorative fireplace screen. I have looked at these in the past at various stores in the mall and then at the local fireplace store and have found some really nice ones.  The problem is I usually start looking for one when the really nice ones are already sold. But I have found that this year there are some really good prices still available.  I think a decorative screen will really brighten up the living room.

Because of the recession, we’ve been forced (family consisting of wife and 4 children) to move  into a smaller (cheaper) house. In our former house, all 4 kids had their own rooms. However in this version, each child has to share a room, which is leading to quite a bit of friction between the new ‘roommates’. However, I think I might have come up with a possible solution. I’ve been doing some internet research into the possibility of purchasing some Bedroom Dividers. This way this would support the ‘illusion’ of each child  having their own rooms and help to bring out more peace.
